Jazz Up Close – 2020 Season

Jazz Up Close – 2020 Season

The 2020 Jazz Up Close “from afar” series pivoted (thanks to COVID-19) from physically occurring at the Russell Library and was instead moved to a virtual format for the year. The series was presented with the support of the Middletown Commission on the Arts, the Shoreline Arts Alliance, and the Friends of the Russell Library . We explored the theme “Layers of Collaboration” with the pairing of drummer/composer Dan Pugach and vocalist/songwriter Nicole Zuraitis, the pairing of multi-woodwind player/composer Erica von Kleist and tap dancer/percussionist DeWitt Fleming Jr. (aka “Sax & Taps”), and the three-person partnership of drummer/composer Curtis Nowosad, trombonist/composer Corey Wallace III, and saxophonist/composer Brent Birckhead.
